BETTY JEAN (LEE) TAYLOR

SOUTH BEND - Betty Jean (Lee) Taylor, 68, of South Bend, Indiana, passed away from this earthly life on Sunday, February 19, 2012. She was born in South Bend, Indiana, on June, 14, 1943, to the union of Joseph Lee Sr. and Sally (Beasley) Lee. Betty was raised in South Bend and graduated from Central High School.

Over the years she worked for St. Joseph's Hospital and Acme. She took pleasure in being with her family, friends, and taking care of her great-grandchildren. Betty loved life and had a nurturing and giving spirit. She always wanted to see everyone happy and having a good time. She was a good cook and loved good food.

Betty leaves to cherish her loving memories a daughter, Barbara Taylor (Otis Ushery), and a sister, Yvonne Wright; two grandchildren, Latisha (James) Jones of South Bend and Darryl A. Taylor Jr. of Elkhart, Indiana; and great-grandchildren, Zhyere, Jamarius, Juelz and London. She will be missed by numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and great-great-nieces and nephews. Betty/Aunt Betty will be especially missed by her nieces, Donna Wright and Sonia Bibbs.

We will miss her smile and her easygoing ways but, most of all, we will miss her presence. Her loving memories will be with us forever. RIP mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Lee Sr. and Sally (Beasley) Lee; her son, Darryl Allen Taylor Sr.; her sister, Vergie Lee Munlin; and brothers, Ulysses Moody, Joseph Lee Jr., James Lee and Herbert Lee.

Memorial contributions may be made in Betty's name to Clark-O'Neal Funeral Home Inc. Services for Betty Jean (Lee) Taylor will be held on Monday, February 27, 2012, in the Clark-O'Neal Funeral Home Inc., 2702 Lincoln Way West.
