PATRICIA D. (MACDONALD)  KROGER

Jan. 6, 1925 - April 2, 2011
SOUTH BEND - Patricia D. Kroger, 86, of South Bend, IN, known to all as "Aunt Pat," died on April 2, 2011, in Memorial Hospital. Born January 6, 1925, in Pocatello, Idaho, she was the daughter of the late Albert A. MacDonald and Emma I. (Nadeau) MacDonald.

On March 24, 1945, Pat married William H. Kroger, who predeceased her on August, 10, 2010. She was also predeceased by her son, Robert H. Kroger, who died in February 1968 in Vietnam while serving his country in the U.S. Army.

Pat is survived by her sister, Mildred R. Seall; her brother, Winfield A. MacDonald; her sister-in-law, Phyllis J. Fitzgerald; her two brothers-in-law, Ronald G. (Jan) Kroger of Clayton, IN, and Darryl D. (Judy) Kroger; her many nieces and nephews; and her good friends, Walter and Marie Overton.

Pat attended South Bend Central High School, and was a homemaker throughout her life.

In her younger days she was involved in many activities in St. Joseph Parish, including The Altar Society and St. Joseph Grade School's Parents and Teachers Association. She was also active in The Christ Child Society. Pat was like a second mother to her many nieces and nephews. Whenever her nieces or nephews, or their children, were participating in any athletic or other event, Pat and her husband Bill were always in attendance to offer their support and encouragement. She was also an avid fan of all Notre Dame sports teams, as well as the Chicago Cubs and the Chicago Bears.
