SOUTH BEND - Ms. Andrea Jackson, 62, of South Bend, Indiana, suddenly departed this life on Wednesday, December 18, 2013. "Cookie," as she was very affectionately known by all, was born to the union of Leon and NoraBelle (Pearson) Boyking on January 19, 1951, in the City of South Bend, Indiana. Cookie accepted Christ as her personal Savior while the family attended the Laymen Chapel CME Church under the pastorate of the late Rev. Billie Kirk.

She received her education in the South Bend School system and was a proud graduate of Central High School.

Cookie was employed by St. Joseph Medical Center in Health Services until her retirement. Andrea became a member of the Daughters of Elks, Pride of South Bend Temple #264 in 1983. As a Daughter Elk, Cookie proudly and very faithfully served as the Daughter Escort. Her joy came in spending time with her grand and great-grandchildren; reading the daily newspaper; working her Crossword puzzles. She graciously served others by visiting the sick and helping the elderly...this was the life that she thoroughly enjoyed!

Those left to celebrate and cherish her life: her spouse, Robert Jackson Sr. of South Bend; a daughter, Leslie Burks of Fort Wayne; a son, Marcus Outlaw (Jerry Flatter) of South Bend; step-children: Nila Jackson-Olive, Tiffany Winthrop, Tawana Jackson, all of South Bend, and Robert Jackson Jr. of Indianapolis, Indiana; 3 grandchildren: LaTasha Thomas, Brandon Phillips, both of Ft. Wayne, and Cornell Thomas of Chicago; 6 step-grandchildren; great-grandchildren: Kiara, Bryshon, Brison, Aubri, Bre'ale, Brandon Jr. and Dior, all of Ft. She was preceded in death by her father, Leon Williams Sr.; her mother, NoraBelle Buckhanon; her stepfather, Charles Buckhanon Sr.; sister-in-law, Vickie Buckhanon; maternal grandparents, Leslie James and Naomi Pearson; and 3 aunts and 4 uncles.
