SOUTH BEND - Shirley Ann Harris-Sanders, 71, passed away at 1:45 a.m. on Wednesday, March 30, 2011 in Memorial Hospital, South Bend with her loving family by her side. Shirley was born in Union City, Tennessee to the late Elwood and Annie (Jordon) Harris. Shirley gave her life to Christ at an early age.

She moved to South Bend in 1955, where she attended Central High School.

She worked at Bendix Corporation for ten years and St. Paul Retirement for five years. She leaves to cherish in her memory: five children, Frank Sanders Jr., Carmen (Randy) Freeman, Quentin (Adrianne) Freeman, Tony (Angela) Shead and Jamie Shead-Gunn; nine grandchildren, Tyshanika Miller, Shana Harris [Tay], Queenisha Shead [James], Antonisha Shead, Lacresha Carroll [Roy], Tony Shead Jr., Demetrice Freeman [Amanda], Joshua Freeman, Addonis Freeman; twelve great-grandchildren; one great-great grandson, Tristyn Stokes; aunt, Lillie Johnson; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Preceding her in death are her loving parents; sister, Rosie Reynolds; brother, Bobby Reynolds; three grandchildren, Tyshawn Freeman, Rochelle Freeman, Tamia Freeman; and great-grandson, Shavante Godwin. T

he family would like to thank Memorial Hospital Staff for their excellent care. Also special thanks to her nephew, Steven Reynolds Sr. and friends for their support and comfort to the family.

Services for Shirley Ann Harris-Sanders will be held on Monday, April 4, 2011 at Miracle Temple Church of God in Christ, 920 W. Napier Street. Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. and then services at 12 noon. Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery. Visit our website at www.clarkoneal.com to sign her guestbook.
