Tera Jo Redd, 69, was born on March 31, 1952, in South Bend, Indiana. She went home to be with the Lord, on March 2, 2022, surrounded by loved ones, following a short illness. She loved and cared deeply for her family and friends.

Tera was the daughter of Edrith Maxine Redd, Lillian Allene, and R.C, Chinn, who preceded her in death, and all of whom loved her very much. Tera spent much of her childhood growing up in Buchanon, Michigan, and her later years in South Bend, Indiana. She attended Central High School and graduated from Ivy Tech Community College. Besides graduating college, getting baptized was one of her greatest accomplishments. Tera worked for St. Joseph County Clerks Office and Ivy Tech Community College for many years. During that time, she tutored students to help them achieve academic requirements for graduation.

She leaves to cherish her memory, a son Rahen Prieto, who was the light of her life. Tera's memory will also be cherished in the hearts of her sisters; Tina Prieto Lane(Ricky) of South Bend, Indiana, Crystal Clemons, Charlotte Chinn, and Janice Chinn of Indianapolis, Indiana. Tera had a very special bond with each of her nieces and nephews whom she loved very much, nieces; Latosha, Tiffany, Angela, Carla, Veda, Trina, Tonya(Rufus), Twana, Kim, Kyla(Cameron), Tara, Ashaunti, April, and Cathy, nephews; Ricardo, Marcel, Terrance, Seanta, Amisi, Delacey, James Charles, Shawn, Cleanon Carlos, Archie, Tyran(Andreya), Sean, Willie Jr., Cory, and numerous great-nieces and nephews, who were also very special to her.

Those who preceded her in death are her parents, brothers; Frederick Hopkins, Cleanon Woods, Leo Prieto, Toby Prieto, Ronald James Redd, sisters; Marlene McBride, Shirley Chinn, sister in law, Mary Hopkins, nephew, Anthony Robinson, and a sister/friend Georgia Brown.

Tera loved spending time with and cooking big dinners for her family. She enjoyed holiday gatherings and wanted to take part in any celebrations, even if it meant having to travel thousands of miles away to do so. Tera loved spending time with her friends whom she thought of as extended family. She loved getting dressed up and being pampered with a new Michael Kors purse and beautiful jewelry. Tera was extremely generous and kind-hearted when it came to her nieces and nephews, whether they were having a dance party, painting, or just being silly. She was very loved and will be greatly missed by her friends and family.

POEM
Oh Mother, Oh Mother, how could this be, I feel like my heart has been
ripped out of me. No words ever written could ever describe the pain that I feel and the hurt deep inside.
Oh, mother, Oh Mother, how I wish I  had more time and you didn't leave me like this.
Oh, Mother, Oh Mother, what should I do I never ever imagined my life without you.
Oh, Mother, Oh Mother, please just come back, there are so many things I never got to ask.
Oh, Mother, Oh Mother, the tears are coming, no one to wipe my eyes so they will keep running.
Oh, Mother, Oh Mother, you are no longer in pain, fly high past the clouds and away from the rain.
Oh, Mother, Oh Mother, you fought a great fight,
the battle will be won when we unite.
