SOUTH BEND - Willia Jean Teague Elkins was born July 11, 1940, to Willie Walter Teague and Laura Harris Teague in Kosciusko, Mississippi.

At an early age the family moved to South Bend, Indiana, where she attended grade school and Central High School.

She later became a teacher in the South Bend and Indianapolis Public School Systems.

In 1958 she united in marriage to Edward Darnell Elkins, and to this union six children were born.

Two of her children, Bobbie Teague and Edward (Dinky) Elkins, preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death were her parents, Willie and Laura Teague; brothers, Willie Teague, Fred (Man) Teague, William (Buddy) Riley and T.J. Wilson; sisters, Ella Jane (Sister) Teague, Carrie Teague McKinney and Adelle Teague Frye; and a granddaughter, Alisha Gaylonda Preer.

She loved music, Coca Cola and her family.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory Ronda (Tisha) Estes; daughters, Theresa (Floyd) Walls and Jacqueline J. Riddick, Lisa Fennell; sons, Billy Jean (Dyana) Elkins and Antonio (Lola) Elkins; brothers, Charlie Wilson of Ann Arbor, Michigan, and Jesse (Gertrude) Teague of Minnesota; 12 grandchildren and 27 great-grand children; with a lot of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral services for Willia Jean Teague Elkins will be held at 11 A.M. on Saturday, Oct. 16th, in Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church, with burial following at Highland Cemetery. Viewing will take place at the church from 10 A.M. to 11 A.M.
