MARCELLA  A. (MARKO) EBERHART

May 19, 1918 - July 26, 2012
MISHAWAKA - Marcella Eberhart passed away in Bon Secours Maria Manor, St. Petersburg, FL, of natural causes. Marcella (Marko) Eberhart was born in South Bend, the second child of Peter Marko, Sr. and Marcella (Rascipovits) Marko.

Her two brothers, Joseph and Peter Marko, Jr., preceded her in death.

She is survived by one sister, Maryann Lipinski of Osceola.

Marcella was married to Harry W. Eberhart on June 18, 1938, in Our Lady of Hungary Church, South Bend. They had three children and were married for 60 years before Harry's death in January 1999. For the past year and a half Marcella has been under the care of her daughter and son-in-law, Rebecca and Richard Bonne, in Mishawaka and Tampa, FL. Marcella's daughter, Gloria Long, died in September 2010, and her son, Richard Eberhart, died in January 2012. Marcella is survived by five grandchildren, Bill Mennucci and his wife Anita of Austin, TX; Michele Molinelli and her husband Peter of Tampa, FL; Andrew Long and his wife Leigh of Mishawaka; Nicole Eberhart-Rashkin of Long Island, NY; and Jacqueline Reeves and her husband Gary of Baytown, TX; all of whom were her pride and joy. She is also survived by six great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Marcella attended Washington Jr. High School and Central High School, where she loved participating in girls' sports.

She grew up in South Bend's west side, and was extremely proud of her Hungarian heritage. Marcella enjoyed sharing photos of herself from her youth when she danced in harvest festivals dressed in native Hungarian costumes. All of her married years, Marcella was a homemaker. She and her husband, among other things, loved going dancing with friends, golfing, volunteering, and family activities most of all. They were both talented artists, and left many beautiful creations for their family and friends to treasure. Marcella became an "egger" after her children were grown, and traveled all over the country to attend egg shows where she displayed her exquisite creations made from ostrich, rhea and large goose eggs. After her husband's retirement, the couple became very active at Mishawaka's Battell Senior Center. They made many close friends there and enjoyed the companionship and variety of activities and classes offered. Marcella was a member of Mishawaka's St. Joseph Catholic Church.

Funeral arrangements are being made by Bubb's Funeral Home, 3910 N. Main St., Mishawaka, where viewing will be held on Monday, July 30th, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. A funeral mass will be held at St. Joseph's Church, Mishawaka, on Tuesday, July 31st, at 10:00 a.m., and viewing will be held one hour before the service at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the giver's choice, or to St. Joseph Catholic Church, 225 S. Mill St., Mishawaka.
