MELVIN L. DUNGEY

Feb. 23, 1931 - March 12, 2009
SOUTH BEND - Mr. Melvin L. Dungey, 78, who lived on Blaine Avenue, South Bend, Indiana, passed away following an illness at 4:50 p.m. Thursday, March 12, 2009, in Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center. Melvin was born to the union of Charles and Bertha (Bowen) Dungey in South Bend, Indiana, on February 23, 1931. He was a lifetime area resident.

He attended Central High School and was employed for 33 years by Honeywell Corp. (Bendix Corporation).

Family members who survive include his wife, Annette P. (Chism) Dungey; daughters, Deborah (Earnest) Fowler, South Bend, IN, and Shevawn Ware, San Antonio, TX; sons, Jon Paul Williams Sr., Indianapolis, IN, Mark (Pamela) Dungey and Wayne (Felicia) Dungey, both of Austin, TX, and Marion (Maryann) Moore of South Bend; 15 grandchildren, Mia Seward, Jon Paul Williams Jr., Nyree Williams, Monise Seward, Lee Nalion, LeShawn Nalion, Mark Dungey, Damen Williams, Dorrie Depreist, Marcus Dungey, Wayne Dungey Jr., Melvin Dungey, Mychal Dungey, Gandrick Dungey and Miles Dungey; 21 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; a niece, Comilel Dungey; and two nephews, Kevin Dungey and Robert Dungey.

Loved ones who preceded him in death along with his parents was a brother, Robert Dungey. Memorial services for Mr. Dungey will be held at 3:00 p.m. Monday, March 16th, in Alford's Mortuary where arrangements have been entrusted.
