Calvin Earl DePriest

SOUTH BEND - Calvin Earl DePriest, age 59 of South Bend, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 14, 2016, at the Hospice House of St. Joseph County. Calvin was born April 25, 1956, in South Bend, to the late Jim Goodman and Maxine DePriest-Driver. He attended South Bend Central High School. Calvin had a passion for cooking and worked at various restaurants in the South Bend area for over 15 years.

Surviving are his siblings, Henry DePriest of South Bend and Jezia Mayes of Elkhart, along with a host of nieces, nephews, and his special friend, Deanne Allen. He was preceded in death by his sister, Darlene DePriest.

There will be a private celebration of his life at a later time. Elkhart Cremation Service has been entrusted with his care.

Calvin had an amazing sense of humor and was loved by all who met him. He enjoyed fishing, watching and playing sports, and volunteering his time to the residents of his apartment complex.
