JOYCE A. (VAUGHN) COFFEY

SOUTH BEND - Joyce Annette Coffey, age 60, who resided on Washington Street, South Bend, IN, passed away Monday, June 24, 2013 at Memorial Hospital, South Bend, IN. Joyce was born January 9, 1953 in Humboldt, TN, to Albert Dean and Mary Lee (Harden) Vaughn, both of whom preceded her in death. Coming from Brownsville, TN, in 1966 she moved to South Bend.

She graduated from South Bend Central High School in 1970.

She married John T. Coffey in 1997, who preceded her in death in 2004.

She worked as a dietician for two years at Southfield Village, four years at Portage Manor and 12 years at Notre Dame. She was a member of Faith Apostolic Church and her hobbies included dancing, reading, cooking and being around her family.

Survivors include three daughters, Jessica Parker and Jackie and Tasha Vaughn; and two sons, John Parker and Terrance McElvene, all of South Bend; three stepdaughters, Ramella Pitchford, Charlette Walker and Pamela Coffey; two stepsons, John and Bernard Coffey, all of Chicago, IL; 11 grandchildren; one sister, Jackie Lee; one brother, Albert Vaughn; a sister in law, Tina Vaughn; and a special sister, Barbara Doxie, all of South Bend, along with a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will occur at 12:00 p.m., on Tuesday, July 2, 2013 at Faith Apostolic Church, with burial following at Riverview Cemetery. Viewing will occur one hour prior to services at the church. Arrangements have been entrusted to Alford's Mortuary.
