Harry Patrick "Perk" Micinski

Feb. 13, 1924 - Jan. 23, 2012 SOUTH BEND

Harry "Perk" Micinski, 87, passed away peacefully on Monday, Jan. 23, 2012, in Prosper, Texas. He was born Feb. 13, 1924, to William and Lillian Cybart Micinski of South Bend, Indiana.

Harry graduated from Central High School in 1942. Harry was a loving husband, father and grandfather, who worshiped all his family members. Harry loved cars and could be found working on cars or driving during his free time. He loved to entertain, and hosted many family events at the home he built and raised his family in. He was very proud of all his family's many accomplishments, especially granddaughter, Ann Ward, who was the winner of America's Next Top Model. He was a member of Holy Family Church and a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus.

Harry was a U.S. Army Air Force gunner, a member of the 460th, and a veteran of World War II. He worked for Studebaker, was a partner in Carpenter Bakery, and retired from City Pattern and Foundry as a metal and wood pattern maker.

He was preceded in death by wife, Shirley Kaysen Micinski; son, Danny Micinski; sisters, Loretta Hayes, Evelyn Ewbank & Theresa MacDonald; brother, Ervin Micinski; and son-in-law, Steven Ward. Harry is survived by his daughters, Lynn (Dan) VanDame of Churubusco, IN, & Mary Ward of Prosper, TX; son, Robert Micinski of Plano, TX; grandchildren, Ann Ward and Trent Ward of Prosper, TX; and sister, Patricia Kosinski.

Memorial services will be held in June 2012 with dates and times announced in the South Bend Tribune at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Holy Cross Catholic Church, 920 Wilber St., South Bend, IN 46628.
