SOUTH BEND - Donald "Donnie" Hill passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 18, 2011 at Rush University Hospital Center in Chicago, Illinois.

Donald was born on May 4, 1949 to George Washington Hill, Sr. and Sarah Katherine (Blue) Hill in St. Louis, Missouri. Donald was raised in South Bend, where he graduated from Central High School. After High School, Donald joined the United States Army, where he served in Vietnam and was honorably discharged. Donald was employed by West Bend Nursing & Rehabilitation and Healthwin Hosiptal.

Surviving family members are his daughter, Donyelle Marie; sons, Don Diago and Tedde Donale, all of South Bend; grandchildren Demetriana Wells, Jaiden White and A-layah Donielle, all of South Bend; sisters, Josie Thompson, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Patricia Washington, Flint, Michigan, Betty Childress, South Bend; and his brother, George (Rozelia) Washington Hill, Jr. Also mourning his passing are his Aunt Dorothy Hill, first cousins Susie Minor Jackson and Larry Hill, his best friend Sonny "Cool" Davis and special friends Felicia Anne Hill, Monique Hunter and Novella Goss; along with a vast number of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and many friends. Donald's parents, sisters Rose Anne Austin, Verneal Leonard, Evelyn Childress and brother Robert Hill preceded him in death. Dianne Taylor, a special friend, preceded him in death.

Donald truly loved and spent quality time with his grandchildren. He loved Cadillacs and clothes. When Donald dressed up, he was always "clean as a whistle" and "sharp to the bone". Donald didn't treat everyone the same; instead he had a different and special relationship with people he knew and loved. Rest in peace Dad, Brother, Uncle and Blessed Friend!

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 P.M. for Mr. Donald Hill on Monday, September 26, 2011 at Pentecostal Cathedral Church Of God In Christ. Viewing will take place at the church from 12:00 P.M. to 1:00 P.M.
