Betty June Snyder Sullivan, 79, of 203 Boyce Sink Court, died Thursday, April 11, 2002, at Forsyth Medical Center. Burial will be in Sheffield, Ill., at a later date. Born in South Bend, Ind., on June 29, 1922, to George Washington and Elizabeth Ellis Snyder, she had been a former resident of Sun City West, Ariz., before moving to Thomasville.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Joseph R. Sullivan.

Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Jim (Barbara) North of Oak Ridge; one son, Mr. Raymond "Bud" Smith and wife, Barbara of Blackshear, Ga.; one sister, Mrs. Fred (Jane) Nied of Winchester, Tenn.; and four grandchildren, J. Scott North of Greensboro, Cherie N. North of Charleston, S.C., Derek L. Smith of Jesup, Ga., and Dallas F. Smith of Goose Creek, S.C.

The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 3 p.m. Sunday, April 14, 2002, at J.C. Green and Sons Funeral Home, Thomasville. The family requests that memorials be made in memory of Mrs. Sullivan to either the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.

The family would also like to express their sincere thanks to Dr. David Duncan and the staff at C.V.S.U. of Forsyth Medical Center for their outstanding care and support during the illness of Mrs. Sullivan.
