John T. Seanor, Jr.

John T. Seanor, Jr., of South Bend, passed away on Wednesday September 26, 2012, in Hospice House, South Bend.

He was born on October 30, 1921 in South Brownsville, PA, to the late John T., Sr. and Lydia (Steinke) Seanor.

He moved to the area in 1936 and graduated from South Bend Central High School in 1940. On January 3, 1942, he married Elizabeth Eike, who survives.

Along with his loving wife, he is survived by his two daughters, Mary (Dennis) Borowski and Chris (David) Durkin, both of South Bend; a son, John H. (Sandi) Seanor of Mishawaka; 9 grandchildren, Gregory (Kelli), Brian (Noelle) and Daniel (Amie) Krawiec, Jennifer (Matthew) Hamby, Kristen Durkin, Gregory (Melissa), Christopher and Michael (Julie) Seanor and Kristin (Seth) Whitaker; 18 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Donald Seanor.

John worked in sales for Kraft Foods for 25 years, before retiring in 1984. He proudly served his country in WWII, where he was member of the Army 35th Engineer Battalion. He was a combat engineer from September 1942 to September 1945.

John enjoyed golfing and was a member of the Four Lakes Country Club in Adamsville, MI. He was also a lifetime member of the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 pm Sunday September 30, 2012, in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend. Funeral services for John will be held at 11 am Monday, in the funeral home, with entombment to follow in Riverview Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Foundation, 4220 Edison Lakes Pkwy Ste 210, Mishawaka, IN 46545-1440.
