Lawana M. (Keys) Bird

SOUTH BEND - Lawana M. Bird, 73, of Cherokee Village, Ark., formerly of South Bend, died Saturday in Baptist Memorial Hospital, Cherokee Village. Mrs. Bird was born in Hoopeston, Ill., and lived in South Bend until 1988.

In South Bend, as Lawana Keys, she married John Bird. He survives with four daughters, Patricia Armstrong of Leakey, Texas, Pamela Farmer of Salem, Ore., Jacqueline Hamilton of Columbus, Ohio, and Lisa Land of San Antonio; a son, William of Wayne, Mich.; eight grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.

Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in First United Methodist Church, Cherokee Village. Cremation has taken place. Roller Funeral Home, Mountain Home, Ark., is in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society.
