Charles, a resident of Albuquerque since 1948, was survived by his wife Joann Harris; sons: David Harris (wife Linda) of Albuquerque and John Harris (wife Fay) of Chama; sister Berniece Davis (husband Ken) of Naples, Florida; 11 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.

Charles was a loving, warm and caring husband, father, grandfather and friend. He was a graduate of Purdue University where he was a member of Pi Kappa Phi and played varsity football. He was a member of Hoffmantown Church and Kiwanis. Charles was a longtime volunteer of New Mexico Museum of Natural History and former board member of Heights YMCA. He was a retired engineer from the New Mexico State Highway Department. Charles enjoyed traveling, Lobo basketball and volunteer work in his retirement.

Services were at French Mortuary-University Chapel. Interment was in the Santa Fe National Cemetery.
