Local friends said today they had received word of the death In an army airplane accident Japan Oct. 5 of Hugh Buchanan, aged 22, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harry J. Buchanan. of Kalamazoo. Mich., formerly of South Bend. The Buchanan family left South Bend about five or six vears ago, friends said. While here they lived on East South street in the Sunnymede addition.
