Gertrude Joyce Collmer, 97, passed away on Wednesday, August 14, 2024 in Dowagiac, Michigan.

Joyce was born on February 18, 1927 in South Bend, Indiana to the late Vern P. Myers and Gertrude (Metcalf) Myers.

Along with her parents, Joyce was preceded in death by her loving husband, Hugh Leroy Collmer and her siblings.

Left to cherish the memory of Joyce are her children, Edward (Pat) Collmer, Sharon (Earl) Farrington, and Brent (Deborah) Collmer; 6 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren.

Her passion for the arts was as boundless as her love for family, often expressed through the strokes of her oil paintings, each a testament to her attention to beauty and detail.

An avid reader, Joyce found solace and strength in the pages of her cherished books and her bible, embracing the stories and teachings that would guide her compassionate life. Her dedication to her family was unwavering, her home an ever-welcoming hub of warmth, laughter, and countless memories.

Joyce's legacy is one of love, kindness, and the joy she found in the simplest pleasures. Her devotion to her family and her faith were her guiding stars, and the luminous memories of her spirit will continue to inspire and comfort all who were blessed to know her.
