Frank Henry Guentert

OREGON, IL - Frank H. Guentert, 92 formerly of Oregon, died Friday December 15, 2017 in the Illinois Veterans Home in LaSalle, IL. He was born January 6, 1925 in South Bend, IN the son of Joseph & Genevieve (Schuler) Guentert. Frank worked as a typesetter for Ave Maria Press in South Bend and Kable Printing in Mt. Morris.
Later he was employed at Etnyre Co. in Oregon. In Oregon, Frank was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church Where he was certified to teach CCD, was Eucharistic minister, involved in St. Vincent DePaul Society, and a member of Knights of Columbus. He was veteran and member of the VFW and the American Legion.
Survivors include his daughters, Donna (Ron) Miller of Dixon, Kathy (Roger) Mc Lughlin of Yorkville, & Gloria (Virgil) Humphrey of Beloit, WI; sons, Kenneth (Carole) of Colorado Springs, CO and Timothy (Pam) of Byron; sister, Cecelia Loman of South Bend; 19 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife Arlene and later by his wife Melinda, son Thomas, and grandchildren Eric, Jackie, & Nicole.
Christian funeral mass will be held Friday Dec. 22, 2017 at 11:00 AM, preceded by a rosary at 9:30 AM and visitation beginning at 10:00 AM, in St. Patrick Catholic Church, 612 Highland Ave., Dixon, IL. Farrell-Holland-Gale Funeral Home, Oregon is assisting the family with arrangements. Memorials may be directed to Boys Town. www.farrellhollandgale.com
