Clarence Kring Beyrer

Clarence K. Beyrer, 68, of 1154 Portage Ave., former owner of the former South Bend Glass Works, was dead on arrival at the Three Rivers, Mich., Hospital at 9:50 a.m. Sunday after suffering a heart attack while fishing at Robbins Lake near Jones, Mich.
Beyrer and his brother Herman owned the South Bend Glass, Works until it was sold 10 years| ago. Herman, died in 1950. Clarence had been associated with the Portage Variety Store since 1951. He was a member of the Westminister Presbyterian Church; the South Bend Lodge 294, F&A.M.; the American Legion Post 303; and the Low Twelve Club, and was a veteran of World War I.
Beyrer was born on May 11, 1893 in State Line, Ind., and had resided here for 62 years, coming from Kirkland, Ind.
On June 16, 1926. he married Henny Miller in South Bend. Surviving are his widow Henny; three sons, John M., Charles K., and William H., all of South Bend; three grandchildren; three brothers, Alfred E. Beyrer of South Bend, Walter G. Beyfer Dayton, O., and Charles H. Beyrer, of Lake Wales, Fla.; four sisters, Miss C. Edith Beyrer and Mrs. A. L. Gemberling, both of South Bend, and Mrs. Laura Hostetter and Miss Edna M. Beyrer, both of Penny Farms, Fla.
Friends may call after 7 p.m. today in the Welsheimer Funeral Home, where services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday. Rev. Russell L. Jaberg, S.T.D., pastor of the Westminster Presbyterian Church, will officiate, with burial in Riverview Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Richard J. Beyrer, Everett M. Hardman, Kenneth R. Hawthorne, Robert T. Kroll, Robert W. Lowe, and Willie H. Moritz.
