Sadie Summe , 88, of Southfield Village, passed away at 12:05 p.m. Friday, Dec. 19, 2003. Sadie was born on April 4, 1915, in South Bend, Ind., to Jovan and Boya Voynovich.
On Feb. 10, 1940, in South Bend, as Sadie Voynovich, she married Howard S. "Dutch" Summe . He died on July 30, 1983. Mrs. Summe was also preceded in death by a sister, Helen Rinkus; and by two brothers, Fredrick Voynovich and Michael Voynovich.
Surviving are a niece, Judith E. (James K.) Welling of Mishawaka, Ind.; a nephew, Fredrick Voynovich of South Bend; her sister-in-law, Estelle S. Voynovich of South Bend; and two great-nieces, Judith V. Welling and Jamey E. Welling.
She was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Serbian Orthodox Church, the Circle of Serbian Sisters, and was a member of the 1933 class of Central High School.
Private services will be conducted, with burial at Southlawn Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Sts. Peter and Paul Serbian Orthodox Church.
