SOUTH BEND - Lee W. Silvers, 78, of 24514 Cleveland Road, died at 1:05 p.m. Wednesday in Regency Place, Mishawaka, after an illness.

Mr. Silvers retired in 1973 from Bendix Corp. after 36 years of service; he also owned and operated a greenhouse in his home for over 20 years, and was the former owner of a variety store in the Ardmore area for five years.

He born Jan. 8, 1915, in Starke County, and lived in South was Bend most of his life.

On Aug. 4, 1940, in South Bend, he married Donnabelle Korn. She survives with two daughters, Shirley Kline of South of Bend and Sharlene Stidham Cincinnati; three grandchildren; a sister, Ida Mae Frese of Dowagiac.

He was a member of Christ Temple Apostolic Church, United Auto Workers Bendix Local 9 and was associated with Farmers Market.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in the church. Burial will be in Mount Pleasant Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in Hollis-Orvis Palmer Funeral Home
