David C. Whiteman

David C. Whiteman, 69, of 61517 Meadowlark Lane, died at 9:30 a.m. today in his home following a lengthy illness. He retired in 1975 from the Bendix Corp. He was born May 2, 1914, in Portage Twp., and was a lifetime area resident.

On Sept. 18, 1937, in South Bend, he married the former Elizabeth Bennett, who survives. He is also survived by a daughter, Mrs. Judy Janicki of Wakarusa; two sons, James of Soquel, Calif., and Robert of California; 10 grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Mary Adams South Bend; and a brother, Don of South Bend.

The Welsheimer Funeral Home, 521 N. William St., is handling arrangements. He was a member of UAW Bendix Local 9.
