Ella Bernice (Ringle)  Holstein

Ella Bernice Holstein, 91, formerly residing on Malvern Way, South Bend, Ind., passed away at 12:05 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 4, at the Bremen Health Center, Bremen, Ind. Ella retired from South Bend's Bendix Corporation. 

Born on Oct. 30, 1906, in Bremen, she had lived in the South Bend area most of her life.

As Ella Bernice Ringle, she married on Sept. 16, 1934, in South Bend, to Donald William Holstein, who died on Jan. 28, 1985.

She is survived by a sister-in-law, Virginia Frepan of Venice, Fla.; and by a close friend and guardian, Grover Carges of Bremen.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 7, at the Palmer Funeral Home, South Bend. Rev. Dr. Alva Hohl of the Zion United Church of Christ will officiate. Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery, South Bend. Friends may call two hours prior to services at the Palmer Funeral Home, South Bend.

Ella was a member of the Zion United Church of Christ, to which memorial contributions may be made.
