Forrest “Fordy” Chidester

Oct 21, 1904 - May 19, 1981 

Forrest Chidester, 76, of 706 Harrison, died at 8:45 p.m. Tuesday in Memorial Hospital after a brief illness.

He was retired from J.C. Penney Co. in 1980. He was born on Oct 21, 1904, in South Bend and had lived here all his life.

He is survived by two nieces, Mrs. Audrey Medich of South Bend and Mrs. Jane McCombs of Edwardsburg.

Private services will be held later. Friends may call from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in the Welsheimer Funeral Home, 521 N. William. Cremation will follow. Internment will be in Bowman Cemetery.

He was a World War II Army veteran.
