Miss Gladys Phyllis Laffin, 77, of 2652 Tamarac Place, died at 3,a.m. today in Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. She had been a clerk at Josephine's, a switchboard operator at the First Bank and Trust Co. and; an operator for a local answering service.

Born December 12, 1903, in South Bend, she was a lifetime resident. She is survived by two brothers, Clarence G. of South Bend and Lawrence of Mishawaka.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday in the Welsheimer Funeral Home, 521 N. William, officiated by Rev. Warren Hostetler of the Milburn Blvd. Church of Christ. Burial will be in the Riverview Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home. She was member of the Walnut Grove Association
