Raymond A. Everett

Word has been received of the death of Raymond A. Everett, 84, of Brookville, Ohio, formerly of South Bend, on Sept. 18 in McCulloughHyde Memorial Hospital, Oxford, Ohio, after an illness.

Mr. Everett was former editor of the Brookville Democrat and former secretarytreasurer of Whitewater Publications Inc., Brookville. He was born May 25, 1902, in Goshen, and had lived in Brookville since 1945.

Surviving are his wife, Portia; a daughter, Sarah Smith of Cashiers, N.C.; two grandchildren; and two brothers, James and Edward, both of South Bend.

Services were Sept. 23 in St. Michael Roman Catholic Church, Brookville. Burial was in Maple Grove Cemetery. Phillips Chapel of Memories, Brookville, was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Everett was a member of the church; the Brookville Kiwanis Club, of which he was past president; and Knights of Columbus Council 1010, Brookville; past president of the Indiana Democratic Editorial Association; and a graduate of the former South Bend Central High School.
