SOUTH BEND - Don Hobkirk of Desert Hot Springs, CA, formerly of South Bend, passed away Sept. 26, 2015, at Desert Regional Hospital, Palm Springs. Don was 95. Don was born in Kenney, IL, and moved with his parents and 3 siblings to South Bend when he was 5.

He retired from I&M Electric Company in South Bend, and moved to Desert Hot Springs in 1985.

Don was married to Virginia Casper in 1941, who preceded him in death in 1997. Don is survived by his two sons, Don of Lake Placid, FL, and wife, Jayne, and Rick of Palm Springs, CA, and wife, Margo, sister, Juanita Austin of South Bend, 4 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.

Throughout his life, Don enjoyed fishing, hunting, golfing, card and game playing. Even at age 95, he was still enjoying a nightly game of dominoes with family. Don was an elder at the River Park Church of Christ while residing in South Bend. Locally, he was a member of the Palm Springs Church of Christ, where his memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 10, at 11:00 AM.
