Zygmunt "Ziggy" Wroblewski
April 30, 1919-March 30, 1993
SOUTH BEND Zygmunt "Ziggy" Wroblewski, 73, of 2905 Prast Blvd., died at 3:30 a.m. Tuesday in St. Joseph's Medical Center after an illness. Mr. Wroblewski retired in 1982 as a machinist repairman for American Home Food Corp., LaPorte. He was born April 30, 1919, in Gary and lived in South Bend most of his life.
His wife, Loretta (Luczkowski) Wroblewski, survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Kathy Ostrom of Granger; a son, Bernie of South Bend; 11 grandchildren; and a greatgrandchild.
He was a member Knights of Columbus Council 5570, American Legion Post 50, Moose Lodge 58 and St. John's Ushers Club and Retirees Club, both of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, and was a veteran of World War II. He was a former coach for Chet Waggoner Baseball Little League and coached basketball and baseball at St. John the Baptist School.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in the church.
Entombment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery Mausoleum with military services conducted by American Legion Post 50. Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. Thursday in Kaniewski & Sons Funeral Home, where a wake will be at 4:30 p.m. and rosary conducted by the Ushers Club at 6 p.m.
