Isora Mildred (Westphal) Hoenk Copping
Jan 20, 1921 - Jul 20, 2014
Naples, FL: Isora Mildred Hoenk Copping, 93, of Naples, FL, passed away on Sunday July 20, 2014. Born January 20, 1921 in South Bend, IN, she was the daughter of Margret and George Westphal.
She is survived by her daughter, Di Kasson of Kalispell, MT; and her son, Thomas (Henry) Hoenk of North Fort Myers, FL. She has two grandsons, William Hoenk and Robert Friedler. Isora lived in Birmingham, MI and moved to Naples in 1970.
She was an active member of the Country Club of Naples, where she was club champion ten times and served on the Board of Directors. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin, and was the first woman to attend Notre Dame. Isora was also an accomplished artist and musician. Isora will be remembered as a true Renaissance woman, whose spirit of adventure led her to being an award winning golfer at the age of 16, the first female draftsman for General Electric, and who learned to drive by 'borrowing' the squad car of the Chief of Police.
In keeping with Isora's style, there will be no formal services.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Golden Retriever Rescue of Southwest Florida.
