Roxana Ruth (Wertz) Makielski

Roxana Ruth Makielski 85, Tucson, went to be with her Lord on April 13, 2006. Roxana was born in South Bend, Indiana to Dwight and Gwendlyn Wertz on April 21, 1920. She is preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Louis Makielski. Throughout Roxana's life she was very active in the Red Cross, Catholic Charities, along with being an avid gardener, swimmer and walker. She was very proud of being alumni from Indiana University and the University of Chicago.

Survivors include her son, Stephen (Phyllis) Makielski, Tucson, Arizona; three daughters, Stephanie (Daniel) Dwyer, Homewood, Illinois, Michell Makielski, Atlanta Georgia, and Christine Makielski, Tucson, Arizona; three grandchildren, Kinsey Makielski, Sean Dwyer, Patrick Dwyer; two sisters, Betty Strandberg, Venice, Florida and Nila Lewis, Sarasota, Florida.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, April 22, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at Saints' Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 1946 E. Lee, Tucson, Arizona. She will be missed dearly by her family.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you donate to your favorite charity. Arrangements entrusted to EAST LAWN PALMS MORTUARY.
