FISHERS - Milo J. Wert, 91, of Fishers, passed away Monday, April 4, 2011, at Prairie Lakes of Noblesville Health and Nursing Facility.
Born August 25, 1919, in South Bend, he was the son of Milo J. Wert Sr. and Pearl (Miller) Wert.

Milo was the plant manager at Indiana Bell in Lebanon, retiring after 41 years of service to the company. He was a Sergeant for the U.S. Army during WWII. He was a member of the Fairview United Methodist and the Lions Club in Bloomington.

Milo was a loving husband, father and grandfather, who enjoyed camping and fishing.

Survivors include his wife of 71 years, Dorothy Wert of Fishers, two sons, Ronald J. Wert (Ruth) of Scottsdale, AZ, Carl J. Wert (Donna) of Indianapolis, daughter-in-law, Ruth Wert of Nashvile, grandchildren, William Wert in the U.S. Navy, Laura Wert of Virginia, Janet Kopp of Ventura, CA, Karen Fisher of Spencer, Nathanael Wert of Scottsdale, AZ, Elizabeth Petersen of Scottsdale, AZ, Michael S. Wert of Noblesville, 17 great-grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his son, Larry J. Wert.

A graveside service will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 6, 2011, at Valhalla Memory Gardens, with Pastor Charlie Coon officiating. The Funeral Chapel of Powell and Deckard, 3000 E. Third St., in Bloomington, IN is handling the arrangements.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.
