Georgia Belle (Thacker) Crauder

MISHAWAKA - Georgia Belle Crauder, 92, residing in Mishawaka, IN, passed away at 12:45 p.m. Tuesday, June 21, 2011, in the St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, Mishawaka, IN.

She was born November 15, 1918, in Nappanee, IN, a daughter of William Benton and Nellie Pearl (Sechrist) Thacker, and had lived in this area all of her life.

Georgia was a homemaker and a farmer's wife. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother and sister. She was very loving and devoted in caring for her sister, Ruby. Georgia loved all nature and animals. She especially enjoyed working in her garden and butterflies. She raised the most beautiful flowers.

As Georgia Thacker, she was united in marriage to Francis Horvath, who preceded her in death in 1978. She then was married to Robert Crauder, who passed away in 1982.

Georgia is survived by her two daughters, Sandy (Bill) Horrall of La Marque, TX, and Kathleen (Michael) Horvath of Granger, IN; her two sons, Patrick Horvath of Mishawaka, IN, and Joseph (Mary) Horvath of South Bend, IN. Also surviving are 15 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Ward Thacker of Brockston, GA; and her aunt, Georgia Sechrist Lutes of Nappanee, IN.

She was preceded in death by a son, Jody Horvath in 1953; two sisters, Ruby Huske, Geraldine Jones; and four brothers, Bob, Glenn and Burl Thacker, and Claude Yarian.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:30 a.m. Friday, June 24, in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Mishawaka, IN. Graveside services and burial will follow at Southlawn Cemetery, South Bend. The family will receive friends from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. today, June 23, in the Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, 3718 S. Michigan St., South Bend. Visitation will also be one hour prior to services Friday in the church.
