Irwin H. Rubin

Irwin H. Rubin, 82, of Granger passed away on Friday, September 6 at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in South Bend. He was born on July 21, 1920 in Elkhart to Milton and Minnie (Dounn) Rubin.
On October 21, 1945 he married Gertrude Karesh.
Mr. Rubin graduated from the University of Michigan with a degree in Economics. He owned and operated Rubin Cleaners for 42 years.
Mr. Rubin was preceded in death by his parents, Milton and Minnie Rubin and also by an aunt, Tessye Simon.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Gertrude "Shish" Rubin; three daughters, Terry Rubin of Guatemala, Wendy Rubin (Robert Johnston) of Beverly Farms, Massachusetts, Laury "Ruby" Rubin (Nicholas Carlo) of South Bend; a son, David (Carole) Rubin of Arlington, Massachusetts; 4 grandchildren and an uncle, Kurt Simon of South Bend.
Services will be held on Monday, September 9, 2002 in Temple Beth-El in South Bend. Burial will follow in Hebrew Orthodox Cemetery. Forest G. Hay Funeral Home is handling the arrangements
