Gerald A. Palmer

Gerald A. Palmer, 80, of Portage Avenue, South Bend, Ind., died Saturday, at 2:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Peace Hospital, South Bend.

Gerald was born on June 15, 1920, in Kalamazoo, Mich., to Lewis A. and Isabell (Seifert) Palmer who preceded him in death, along with one brother, Paul Palmer.

On June 3, 1950, he married Virginia L. Haj who survives. Also surviving is a daughter, Collette M. and her husband, Joseph Hanslits Jr.; two grandchildren, Allison L. and Timothy J. Hanslits, all of Pottstown, Pa.; one brother, Maurice Palmer of South Bend; two nephews, Lewis and John Palmer, both of South Bend.

Gerald was a Brew Master with Drewry's Limited and a member of the Master Brewerys Association.

Private family services will be held with the McGann Funeral Homes, Council Oak Gardens Chapel, 21275 W. Cleveland Road, South Bend, Ind., handling the services. Burial will be in the Highland Cemetery.

Memorials may be given to St. Vincent DePaul or the charity of the donor's choice.
