Donald E. Nuner

May 16, 1919 - May 8, 1987

Donald E. Nuner, 67, of 61383 Oak Road, died at 6:34 p.m. Friday in Memorial Hospital. Mr. Nuner retired in 1985 as chief engineer at the Mastic Corp. after 35 years of service.

He was born May 16, 1919, in South Bend, and was a lifelong area resident.

On June 26, 1948, in South Bend, he married Betty M. Ullery. She died Aug. 23, 1986.

He is survived by two daughters, Nancy A. Nuner of New York City and Patricia E. Nuner of South Bend; two sons, Donald E. Jr. and John D., both of South Bend; four grandchildren; and a brother, John of Lincoln, Vt.

Private graveside services will be Wednesday at City Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday in the family home. Welsheimer Funeral Home, 521 William St., is in charge of arrangements.

He was a 1st lieutenant and flight instructor in World War II and served with the Air Force during the Korean War. He was a life member of National Rifle Association, of Fraternal Order of Police Auxiliary 36, Chain of Lakes Gun Club, American Orchid Society and United States Power Squadron.
