Memorial services for Glen E. McGowan, 65, of 52391 Forestbrook Ave., who died at 11:15 p.m. Tuesday in his home after an illness, will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in Cedar Road Missionary Church, Osceola. Cremation will take place at the Michiana Crematory. ThallemerGoethals Funeral Home, Mishawaka, is in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of St. Joseph County.
Mr. McGowan was a sign painter for the Indiana Toll Road. He was born Nov. 20, 1920, in Marshall County and had lived in the South Bend area for 50 years, coming from Lakeville.
Survivors include three daughters, JoAnn Miller of Osceola, Mary Whitaker of Wakarusa and April Plantinga of New Buffalo; a son, Jon of Neptune City, N.J.; 13 grandchildren; two three sisters, Lois J. Crow of International Falls, Minn., Mary Lively of South Bend and Ruth Meehan of Mishawaka; and five brothers, Lyle of Sun City, Ariz., Dean of Kansas City, Mo., Robert and Francis, both of South Bend, and James W. of Hemet, Calif.
A brother, David, died in 1984.
Mr. McGowan was a member of the South Bend Maennerchor Club and the St. Joseph County Fraternal Order of Police.
