Irvin L. Laskowski, 68, of 51901 Cheryl Drive, Granger, died at 8:37 a.m. Saturday in Memorial Hospital. He retired from the South Bend Post Office after 16 years of service.

He was born Feb. 13, 1920, in Michigan City. He lived in the South Bend area for most of his life.

On Feb. 26, 1944, in South Bend, he married Betty Reade DeBlase, who survives. Also surviving are three daughters, Katherine Nelson of Chicago, Donna Charett of Albany, N.Y., and Linda Lyons of Fort Wayne, Ind.; a son, Michael of Streamwood, Ill.; seven grandchildren; and a sister, Beatrice Rasmussen of South Bend.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in the St. Pius X Catholic Church in Granger. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery. Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. today in the Hickey Funeral Home, Cleveland Road Chapel, 17131 Cleveland Road.

He was a member of the church, World War II Army veteran, and a member of the American Postal Workers Union. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Joseph County Heart Association.

Note: spelling of last name Laskoski changed to Laskowski sometime after his military service
