Cletus Hugo Kruyer

JAMESTOWN - Mr. Cletus Hugo Kruyer, Jr., 93, of Jamestown, died Wednesday, December 31, 2014 in High Point Regional Hospital. Mr. Kruyer was born Feb. 4, 1921 in Indianapolis, Indiana, a son of Cletus Hugo and Frances Sullivan Kruyer.

He was a graduate of Indiana University and later received his master's in economics from Notre Dame University in South Bend, IN. He was a World War II veteran with the U.S. Navy. Clete's working career started with First Bank and Trust Company, where he later became president of the bank. His second career was with High Point College, now High Point University, where he was Vice President of Development.

He was past president of the High Point Rotary Club, former member of the board at High Point Regional Hospital, and also was a former member of the advisory board with Pennybyrn at Maryfield.

In 1950, he married the former Laura Lindley, who preceded him in death in 1990. Later, he married Joan Servich, who died in 2011.

Surviving are his children Kathleen Boe and husband Tom of Minneapolis, MN, Karen Rogalski and husband Chuck and Peter Kruyer and wife Lauree of Southern Pines, five grandchildren, Patrick Boe, Kathy Campbell, Sarah Kruyer, Nick Kruyer and Sam Kruyer, and one greatgrandchild, Margaret Boe.

Visitation will be from 2 until 3 p.m. on Saturday, January 3, 2015 at Saint Christopher's Episcopal Church, 303 Eastchester Drive. A celebration of life service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, immediately following the visitation, at Saint Christopher's Episcopal Church.
