Stephen J. Kratovil

Stephen J. Kratovil, 54, of 129 E. Tasher St., died at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday in Memorial Hospital after an illness of four days.
He was the president and chairman of the board of Superior Piece Parts, Inc., Mishawaka. He was born on Jan. 30, 1919, in Bridgeville, Pa., and had lived in South Bend 36 years, coming from Bridgeville. His wife, Mary Lynn, whom he married on Oct. 15, 1939 survives.
Also surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Karen Elliott of Miami, Fla.; a son, Scott L. of Elkhart; seven grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. Violet Oliver of South Bend, Mrs. Ann Mayoras and Mrs. Stella Zadony, both of Pittsburgh, Pa., and Mrs. Elizabeth Riker of Waukegan, Ill.; and three brothers. George and Walter of Pittsburgh, and Del of Angola.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in the Forest G. Hay & Son Funeral Home, 1201 S. Michigan St., where Masonic memorial services will be conducted at 7:45 p.m. Thursday. Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Friday at River Park United Methodist Church, Rev. Carl Lemna, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park.
Mr. Kratovil was a member of South Bend Lodge No. 294, F & AM; the Scottish Rite; Chapter 575, Rose Croix Chapter, O.E.S., and the Men's Club of Robin Hood Golf Course.
Memorial contributions may be given to the Heart Fund or the River Park United Methodist Church.
