Mary E. (Houghton) Corwin

Feb. 4, 1921 - April 17, 1995

SOUTH BEND Services and burial for Mary E. Corwin, 74, of Seal Beach, Calif., formerly of South Bend, who died April 17 in her home, were conducted April 21 in Seal Beach. St. Joseph Funeral Home handled local arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Mrs. Corwin was formerly employed by the South Bend Community. School Elementary Corp. as School a teacher and also at taught at the Air Force base in Iceland for 10 years.

She was born Feb. 4, 1921, in Buffalo, N.Y., and lived in South Bend from 1937 to 1963.

In Denver, as Mary E. Houghton, she married Al Corwin. He survives with a sister, Jane Marnocha of South Bend; and four brothers, James Houghton and Harold Houghton, both of South Bend, Ernest Houghton of Lansing and Robert Houghton of Hemet, Calif.

She was a graduate of Ball State University.
