Evelyn M. Ham, 69, of 1274 Barron Lake Road, Niles, died at 3 a.m. Friday, July 7 at Memorial Hospital, South Bend, Ind., following an extended ilIness. She was involved in special education and Special Olympics.

Born May 25, 1920, in South Bend, she lived the Niles area all her life.

She married Robert W. Ham, who was known as Ham the Wrecker, on Sept. 18, 1941, in New Carlisle, Ind. He survives. Other Survivers include four daughters, Roberta "Chub" Lierley, Karen Lenox, and Nancy Ham, all of Niles, and Judith Coughlin of Waterford, Connecticut; five grandchildren and three greatgrandchildren.

Services were Monday, July 10 at Halbritter Funeral Home by the Rev. Arnold O. Schaap of Edwardsburg. Burial followed at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger, Ind
