RUTH A. (GOES) STEPHENS

Ruth Ann Stephens of Wilmington, DE died Friday, June 3, 2005.

She was the daughter of the late Harry Edward and Bertha Klein Goes. She was born on August 20, 1920. Mrs.Stephens graduated from Central High School in South Bend, IN and Hanover College in IN. She married Richard Lockwood Stephens in 1943. They lived in Louisville, KY, Cranston, RI, Atlanta, GA, Rehoboth Beach, DE and Wilmington, DE. She was a member of AAUW, League of Women Voters, Phi Mu Fraternity and volunteer at the Delaware Art Museum.

She was predeceased by her son, Richard L. Stephens, Jr., in 1995.

Mrs. Stephens is survived by her husband, Richard L. Stephens; her daughter, Ann Stephens Smith of New Orleans, LA; her grandchildren, Elizabeth Derbes, Carolyn Burke, Deborah Kirsch, Jean Stephens and William Stephens; and 8 great grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph on the Brandywine Church, 10 Old Church Road, Greenville, on Tuesday, June 7, 2005, at 10 am, where friends may visit in the church after 9 am. Burial will be in the Wilmington and Brandywine Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family request that Mass Cards be sent.
