Arthur R. Gilpin

June 13, 1918-May 9, 1992

NEW CARLISLE Arthur R. Gilpin, 73, of 8164 E. Lakeview, died Saturday at 6:45 a.m. in Memorial Hospital. 

He retired from the University of Notre Dame and from Union Oil, Rolling Prairie Plaza. He was born June 13, 1918, in Okmulgee, Okla. He lived in the area for most of his life.

On May 15, 1948, in New Carlisle, he married Letha Kaufman. She survives with two daughters, Vicki Murphy of Cleveland and Judy Smith of Three Oaks; a son, Drew of New Carlisle; four grandchildren; and two brothers, Jack of New Carlisle and William of Montana.

He was a veteran of World War II.

Friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m. Monday in Amen-Kaniewski & Sons Funeral Home. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the funeral home. Cremation will take place
