Mamie Bertha Lee Earles

Miss Mamie B, Earles, 52, of 1412 W. Washington Ave., died at 3:40 p.m. Friday in St. Joseph's Hospital after a six month illness.

She was made a certified head master by the board of education of Chicago. She was born on June 4, 1919 in Angola, La., and had lived in South Bend five months, coming from Chicago.

Surviving are an adopted daughter, Mrs. Patsy A. Hawley of South Bend; two brothers, Fletcher of Elkhart, and Jerry F. of South Bend, and two sisters, Mrs. Josephine Coto of Pittsburgh, and Mrs. Mercidee Wilkes of South Bend.

Friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m. Monday in Clark's Funeral Chapel. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Grace A.M.E. Zion Church, Rev. George Stewart, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery.

Miss Earles was a member of the church
