Marjorie G. Dunkle, 80, of East Madison Street, South Bend, Ind., died Thursday, July 5, in the Ironwood Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was the daughter of George M. Dunkle and Esther Excell Dunkle, born on Jan 8, 1921, in South Bend. She retired from the, Indiana State Employment Service where she served as an employment supervisor from 1942 to 1986. She was past president of the Alpha Chapter of the Alpha Chi Omega Sorority at DePauw University and was a lifetime member of the Service Guild.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Robert Dunkle of South Bend.

She is survived by her sister-inlaw, Jane Dunkle of South Bend; nephew, Stephen Dunkle of Saginaw, Mich.; niece, Susan Dunkle Haas of Gurnee, Ill.; greatnieces, Julie Dunkle Zipperer of Hoffman Estates, III., and Emily Haas of Gurnee; great-nephew, Christopher W. Dunkle of Chicago, Ill.; and by a half brother, Don Routt of San Diego, Calif.

Memorial services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, July 9, in the Welsheimer Funeral Home, 521 N. William Street, with Rev. Hosea Drake of Grace United Methodist Church officiating. Cremation will take place at Michiana Crematory, with burial to follow at the Riverview Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to the service in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice. The Welsheimer Funeral Home, 521 N. William Street, is handling arrangements.
