Hope (DeVries) Knight

Hope DeVries Knight, 913 S. Lombardy Dr. dead on arrival at 9:30 p.m. Wednesday at Memorial Hospital. She had had an heart ailment. Mrs. Knight was a bookkeeper at the Waggoner Fuel Company.

Born on Sept. 8, 1920, South Bend, she had been a lifetime resident here.

Surviving are a son, David Lawrence Knight, of South Bend; five sisters, Mrs. Martina Vanderknoop Chicago, Mrs. Martha Kennedy of San Francisco, Mrs. Anna Waggoner of South Bend, Mrs. Frances Wheeler of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Mrs. Evelyn Cook of Mishawaka; and five brothers, Andrew DeVries of  Cleveland, Ohio, Paul DeVries Keokuk. Iowa, Robert DeVries of Chicago, Sanders DeVries of South Bend and William DeVries of Detroit.

Friends may call from 7 p.m. today until noon Saturday at the Russell Funeral Chapel, then at Epworth Memorial Methodist Church, where services will be at 2 o'clock. Rev. Harry W. Campbell, D.D., pastor, will officiate and burial will be in Highland Cemetery. She was a member of the Epworth Church and choir.
