Dorothy (Connelly) Wert

Dorothy (Connelly) Wert, 91, of Indianapolis passed away Sunday, July 08, 2012 at the Community South Hospital in Indianapolis. Born August 29, 1920 in South Bend, IN, she was the daughter of Louis A. and Elizabeth (Hybarger) Connelly. Dorothy was 1938 graduate of Central High School in South Bend. She was a secretary at Studebaker Corporation in South Bend for 10 years, she was employed at Lau Corporation in Lebanon and she was "Dot the Doll Doctor" owning her doll hospital for 10 years. Dorothy was active in the United Methodist Church, a member of the Eastern Star and a member of the National Honor Society.

Survivors include two sons, Ronald J. Wert (Ruth) of Arizona, Carl J. Wert (Donna) of Indianapolis, daughter-in-law, Ruth Wert of Nashville, grandchildren, William Wert in the U.S. Navy, Laura Wert of Virginia, Janet Kopp of California, Karen Fisher of Spencer, Elizabeth Petersen of Arizona, Nathanael Wert of Arizona, Doug Burpo of Indianapolis, Michael Wert of Noblesville, Dennis Watson of Indianapolis, Justin Watson of Indianapolis, 21 great grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband of 71 years, Milo J. Wert (2011) one son, Larry Wert, two great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.

A graveside service will be 11:00am Wednesday, July 11, 2012 at Valhalla Memory Gardens in Bloomington. The Funeral Chapel of Powell and Deckard 3000 E. Third St. in Bloomington is handling the arrangements.
