Robert N. Cary, 67, of 1713 E. Jefferson Blvd., Mishawaka, died at 7:45 p.m. Sunday in Americana Health Care Center, Elkhart.

Robert was discharged from the U. S. Coast guard after serving for four years, 26 months of which were spent in sea duty. Mr. Cary retired from Braunsdorf Plumbing Heating Inc. in 1982.

He was born Feb. 16, 1920, in Angola, Ind., and moved to Mishawaka 52 years ago.

On April 12, 1946, in South Bend, he married the former Carolyn M. Crum, who survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Linda L. Cary of Mishawaka; a son, John P. of Ypsilanti, Mich.; a grandchild; a half brother, Dean Cary of Palatine, Ill.; and his stepmother, Rena Cary of Angola.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Welsheimer Funeral Home, 521 N. William St., where friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery.

Mr. Cary was a member of Congressional Church, Orland, Ind., and Local 172 of the Plumbers and Piperfitters union and was a veteran of World War II.
