Earl F. Vosburgh

SOUTH BEND — Earl F. Vosburgh, 93, residing in South Bend, passed away at 6:20 a.m. Thursday, March 14, 2013, in Morning Crest Nursing and Memory Care Center. He was born in South Bend, IN, on January 6, 1920, to the late Grover and Carrie (Albright) Vosburgh, and remained a lifelong area resident.
On January 11, 1944, in New York, NY, Earl married the former Domecilla R. Rydzinski, who survives. In addition to his loving wife of 69 years, Domecilla, Earl is survived by a daughter, Sharon (Doug) Farris of South Bend; three grandchildren, Jason (Tina) Kaetzel of Indianapolis, IN, Daxon Kaetzel of Dallas, TX, and Carrie Thompson of South Bend; three great-grandchildren, Brittnee and John Thompson, and Kristiana Piper; and two great-great-grandchildren, Kaleb and Luna Piper.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Judith Kaetzel, on February 23, 2011; sister, Helen Vosburgh; and brothers, Ralph and Glenn Vosburgh.
Earl served his country honorably in the United States Navy during World War II and became a member of VFW Post #360 and American Legion Post #303, both in South Bend. He retired in January 1983 after 36 years as an engineer in the boiler/power house of Uniroyal Corporation. Earl was also a member of the River Park Fishermen Association.
The family will gather privately at a later date for services. Palmer Funeral Home - River Park and Southlawn Cremation Services are assisting the family with arrangements.
Expressions of sympathy in memory of Earl may be donated to the charity of the donor's choice.
